Statement Furniture
In the world of wholesale furniture, statement pieces function in the same way that they do for the field of fashion design. A statement piece is a certain aspect of a design that stands out in some way. This can translate to nearly any of the creative pursuits especially when styling something or someone. On a woman a statement necklace or ring is an attention grabbing piece of jewellery, usually large or bright in colour. Similarly a statement chair could have a bold pattern or unusual design that pops out from the rest of the furnishings and décor. Other than statement chairs there can also be bold kinds of artwork, decorative items, racks and stands, or floral arrangements.
Statement Chairs
Statement chairs are a great way to incorporate bright colours and bold patterns into an otherwise drab and lifeless room. Padded chairs work as accent pieces especially if they are covered in an inviting swath of fabric. When the material has an aesthetically interesting pattern on it the effect is usually quite significant. Try to create a sense of contrast by mixing and matching different tones or by mashing up two separate styles side by side. Since they are considered to be accent chairs they can be moved around as needed to emphasize different areas, or just for sitting.
Statement Artwork
Statement artwork can be hung on a bare wall to produce an instant feeling of life and warmth. The attractive design of a framed piece of art is inviting and draws the eye towards it almost instinctively. There are many way to incorporate statement art into a room and just as many different kinds of statement art. Extremely bright hues are a dead giveaway that you are looking at a statement piece but other clues are controversial imagery or any kind of strong theme. For example in a room that is prominently beige and taupe a canvas print in neon colouring or jewel tones might do the trick.
Statement Décor
Statement decorative items are something that one would not usually see used as a decoration or else something being used in a new and interesting way. Hanging ornaments could be considered a piece of statement décor because normally they are only used for festive occasions. This could also be said of ropes of lights or strings of ornaments that can make a room feel festive all year round. Consider using metal accents as statement pieces. The harsh nature of metal as a substance makes it a strong addition to the design. Even found objects like wagon wheels or tin signs can be used to say something.
Statement Racks
Hat racks and umbrella stands are sort of an old fashioned notion which one does not see adorning rooms very often anymore. The rarity of such objects in the modern day setting makes them ideal statement pieces. A hat rack could say, "This is a place to hang your hat," while an umbrella stand would be all like, "Hey, please do not drip rain water on the floor." Other kinds of hanging rails are better for drying off towels after they have been used, or for laundry that needs to be air dried. These days most hanging rails come attached to the bathroom wall but it is nice to have them in other places too.
Statement Flowers
The fundamental purpose of a floral arrangement is to draw the viewer's eye towards it. Florists can tell you that there are a myriad of ways to create an attention grabbing floral centrepiece using vases and flowers. The base of a floral arrangement is a vase or basket. By mixing and matching different containers the whole theme of the arrangement shifts. Elegant glassware has a transparent effect that allows one to more thoroughly see the stems of the flowers. Ceramic vases have a more classic appearance that complements many themes. Even an unusual wicker basket will make a statement.
