When we first saw this, the shape caught our eye straight away - it’s so rare these days to find a piece that does the distressed look so gently. Most other candle holders in the market usually have a sharply accentuated burnt look or an almost cartoonish take on what “rustic” means. We like this one because it still has an elegant finish, with just enough weathering for that sense of character and age.
Of course, this isn’t real wood - in fact, it’s MDF under the hood - but unless you go looking very closely, it’s hard to tell. The finish really is that good. It’s a little more delicate than your average set of candle holders but not so fragile that you’d worry about breaking them as you move things around. The all-natural shade of brown also plays quite nicely with the idea of a natural-wood finish, which makes this a versatile piece for use anywhere - whether it’s beside an entryway mirror, as the centrepiece for a dinner table, or even at a commercial space where something regal is needed to complete the scene.
