There’s really no getting around the fact that clocks have lost a lot of their utility over time - well, unless we’re talking about statement pieces like our Beach House clock here. This is one of those items that just gets people up and talking the moment they come into a room - it measures 58x58cm so it’s not too overwhelmingly large or small, sits very sturdily on any wall, and creates this beautiful sense of calm with its blue bands alternating across a subtly weathered face.
The only thing we’ve had people talk to us about is the need for high quality batteries for accurate timekeeping, but given how there’s already quite a bit going on visually in terms of how unique the piece looks compared to your average clock and even other decor pieces in the same area, this becomes almost negligible once you start placing them.
It’s made out of MDF wood and actually uses blocks of colour (which means paint never really comes off) in different areas to create dimension rather than fading one tone into another with distressing. Just gives it this interesting edge without being too loud or jarring which is why you’ll see it used very frequently as part of vintage or retro-inspired spaces.
