Doorknocker Shell Antique

Cast iron and finished in a weathered, antique green - this 8.5x5x10.5cm Doorknocker Shell has a charming, rustic feel that's just right for coastal or nautical themes. It has a slightly textured surface and a solid weight that feels reassuringly robust, but what we love most is the way the ribbed, seashell-inspired shape pairs with those dark brown and copper undertones - it really brings out the detail in the sculpting. This would make a striking addition to any shop selling entryway accessories, door hardware or vintage-inspired decor - it's an eye-catcher with real character.

The shell shape and the antique finish on this cast iron doorknocker is just - honestly, it's a bit brilliant. Cast iron always has some weight to it, and that's what makes this one feel like a real statement piece. We could absolutely see it on the front door, but also - if we're honest - at the back door for something different. And yet, it's still classic in a way. At 8.5x5x10.5cm, it's big enough to be noticed but not so massive that it's impractical on smaller doors. The brown-grey-greenish colour looks quite genuine - that aged look is hard to get right unless you've got a good paint technician and this does it really well. It's not cold to the touch, even though it has that worn cast iron look about it. The surface detailing does reflect light - or maybe catch it, more like - so there's some texture that will probably weather beautifully as time passes or if exposed to the elements every day. We just think it would make a great addition to any home that's looking for a 'finishing touch' in their entryway or even along with a beachy theme by the ocean. It's sturdy and dependable but still an interesting shape to add some interest to a more contemporary space, too.
