It’s hard to go past the velvet, wine red star on this plush hanging ornament. It’s the kind of thing people would love to have as a centrepiece on a Christmas tree but also something that can fit in nicely in more contemporary or minimalist displays for the season. At 14cm, it’s large enough to be noticed but not too much - we’ve seen retailers use these with other colours of similar sized stars and some larger or smaller ornaments to create a depth effect on windows.

The Hanging Star Wine Velvet is an interesting one for us. It is equal parts playful, tactile, and festive - and there are so many ways you could merchandise it. The star itself measures 14cm but the whole piece has a real presence once you include the hanger and feather. And while most people will go straight to Christmas tree decor, we think this makes an interesting accent for a child’s bedroom or even in a bright, contemporary living space. The bold velvet colour looks great with gold and cream as well as more modern blushes and teals. It does feel plush (thanks to high quality polyester) but not precious – there’s that sturdy wooden beading that adds structure and a hint of Scandinavian minimalism too. We’ve seen these paired with different shapes too (they do come in heart, moon, bauble, and tree as well) to create a truly personalised display.
