There’s a certain handmade charm about our Serving Bowl Waiau that makes for an easy hero piece. The surface is that light, natural white with a slight gloss to it - as if it’s meant to look fresh but not too far from what you would expect to see straight from the hands of a good ceramicist. And at 27cm by 26.5cm and standing 9cm tall, it’s incredibly practical without being imposing; something we really appreciate about the way these stoneware bowls fit in among other tableware and homewares.
Another nice touch - the waves along the rim pull this bowl out of that category of “just another round bowl”, so it almost mimics a natural ocean or lake structure at times. If you think customers might enjoy something beachy, you can pull all those references in right there, but in general these do fit into most styles from rustic to modern - especially as display or showpieces that have character but don’t overpower what’s around them.
One thing worth mentioning is how each bowl comes finished with a reactive glaze, so not one will be identical to another. But if anything, this adds to the beauty and quality of having something so naturally made for service and aesthetics.
