Birds Wash S/2

Ah, the Birds Wash S/2 are the sort of shelf sitters that actually do what they’re supposed to do - be more than an accent, not just another shelf-stuffer. We’re looking at a strong example of animal sculpture done right with this one, but in a way you probably wouldn’t expect. These Birds Wash S/2 are a set of 2 resin sculptures crafted to appear as if they were made from terracotta or some other clay variant. There’s a mild sheen that doesn’t look like resin at all, and the subtle distressing makes for quite the convincing aesthetic up close. So, what you’re actually selling to your clients is an affordable alternative to actual ceramics. The paint here isn’t trying too hard to sell the look - there’s some variety between each finish (which is great because identical hand-painted sculptures can work against authenticity), but there are common characteristics like the washed-green body and pastel-beige wings that does a great job adding variety to a set that might be displayed side by side. They’ve got considerable mass and size going for them at 18x12x15cm per sculpture which means you could use these on either side of a long table, or pair them on large coffee tables or display consoles. Their unique earth-tone schemes make them an obvious choice for boho-chic displays and interiors, but these could just as easily work well in contemporary spaces. We recommend pairing these with plants or using them as part of a larger naturalist display (but these do hold up well all on their own). It’s easy for naturalistic animal figurines to appear out of place but as far as birds go, we find that adding one or two larger pieces like this can help bring out the accents in botanical arrangements. Especially with indoor plants or muted palettes - this is one range you’d want to stock up on if those are popular choices for your target audience. A lot of our partners prefer mixing accent pieces between realistic and stylised sculptural forms, so we find that pieces like this actually help balance things out when paired with other bronze statues or highly detailed resin forms. We recommend using these in any space where you’d like some informal interest added without reducing how graceful your layout looks. The clay-like finish really elevates how approachable this set comes across while still remaining just sophisticated enough thanks to those faded green and ochre washes. The paint work is genuinely good here so there’s no need to worry about ‘artificial’ appearing birds ruining your display - it fits in well with smooth-cast ceramics and hand-thrown pottery alike.
