Starfish XL Double Sided
Going for nautical, especially a classic look, can be tricky because coastal shells and corals tend to come in so many styles and finishes. Some are kitschy and some feel a little too obviously fake. The Starfish XL Double Sided comes in that sweet spot between realism and an actual dry specimen. It’s big enough that it can stand on its own but also bold enough to act as a centrepiece amongst other similar items. It measures 31.5x31.5x5.5cm with nice, even arms and ridges through its body to mimic a realistic starfish while still maintaining that minimalist matte finish.
We always talk about accent pieces needing to be subtle enough to blend into decor, but some accents just need to be as visually attractive as possible - this Starfish XL is one of those times where we’re not talking about subtlety at all. The off-white colour can be paired with other corals or shells or left on display by itself for a natural sea-themed accent on a coffee table or console table.
The rough texture is slightly pitted to add some dimension to the resin casting, and the slightly domed centre allows you to stack these amongst different shells without it being flat against the surface. We like having this at eye level on mantles or bookshelves amongst coral sculptures, faux animal skulls, and white shells - they look best in the sunshine when they catch the light just right.
