Alright, how charming is this? Our Whale Trinket Box is one of those pieces that gets people talking. A playful ceramic with a lovely hand-finished touch, but not in a loud or silly way – just something fun and, well, different. At 17x11x13cm, it sits comfortably on a desk or bookshelf. Some retailers set them up in kids' rooms. And they do work there, but we've seen them in coastal homes and offices too. It’s one of those flexible things.
We know that not everyone goes for whales on their homewares, but the finish is actually quite subtle – a pretty blue glaze up top, texture on the white belly below. Now, being hand-finished means every box is ever-so-slightly unique (we think it adds to their charm). Expect small variations in the glaze here and there, which are totally normal and part of the design.
We don't see this much - a trinket box that doubles as decor and lightens up a side table without being another glass jar or simple round pot. It adds personality to a room without screaming for attention. Put it in front windows - it tends to draw people in and makes for easy gifting too.
